Tests for Milkymist One Accessories on Switching Power Adapters

Test environments: MM1 with video camera input, vga monitor, usb mouser, usb keyboard, rendering mode ( duration A starts from 20110629 20:00 ~ 20110630 09:00 ), AC input 110V 60Hz

Since I don't have DC Electronic Load to simulate load condition, so use wire wound cement resistors shown below:

wire wound cement resistors. Since cement resistor have its own tolerance, so the resistance measured by Agilent 34401A includes resistances of cable and wire.


  • 100-240V AC 50/60Hz OUTPUT: 5.0VDC 2000mA, KSAS0100500200D5(PAHS, REACH)
    • step1: no load(MM1), 5.185V / ~ , adapter body 31.2°C ===> PASS
    • step2: load(M1), 5.043V / 746mA, adapter body 34.5°C ===> PASS
    • step3: rated current 2A, resistance of load = 3.1 Ω, 4.826V / 1.452A measured, 10 (power cycle) times @ 10 seconds, adapter keeps a rating output power 7W, ===> should be 1.612A and 5V
    • step4: over current 2.475A, resistance of load = 2.02 Ω, 4.632V / 2.044A, 10 (power cycle) times @ 10 seconds, adapter keeps a rating output power 9.47W
    • step5: go back to step3 to check if still works well, ===> same
    • step6: short current, resistance of load = 0.14 Ω, 10 (power cycle) times @ 10 seconds, adapter goes no current and voltage out and protected. ===> PASS
    • step7: go back to step3 to check if still works well, ===> same
  • 100-240V AC 50/60Hz OUTPUT:12VDC 300mA, KSAS0061200030D5D(PAHS REACH)
    • step1: no load(obk-2010cw camera), 12.076V / ~ measured, adapter body 31.2°C
    • step2: load(camera), 11.962V / 90.7mA measured, adapter body 39.8°C, camera body 38.9°C; duration A, ===> PASS
    • step3: rated current 0.3A, resistance of load = 39.73 Ω, 12.072V / 0.299A measured, 10 (power cycle) times @ 10 seconds, ===> PASS
    • step4: over current 0.507A, resistance of load = 23.89 Ω, 9.196V / 0.39A measured, 10 (power cycle) times @ 10 seconds,, adapter keeps a total rating output power 3.6W ===> PASS
    • step5: go back to step3 to check if still works well, ===> PASS
    • step6: short current, resistance of load = 0.14 Ω, 10 (power cycle) times @ 10 seconds, adapter goes no current and voltage out and protected. ===> PASS
    • step7: go back to step3 to check if still works well, ===> PASS
