On this page we are collecting what we learnt about shipping copyleft hardware around the world. We keep only the most recent or different shipment types, outdated information gets deleted as newer information becomes available. As of December 2013, only IDA Systems (India) and Pulster (Germany) appear to be selling the Ben NanoNote.

  • March 2010: Sharism shipment of 1 NanoNote from Hong Kong to Argentina, FedEx Priority, S&H cost USD 68.18, delivered 3 days after pickup. FedEx only offers priority shipping method to Argentina. 28.32 USD Duty & Tax was charged.

  • Feb 2010: Sharism shipment of 1 NanoNote from Hong Kong to Australia, FedEx Economy, S&H cost USD 19.27, delivered 5 days after pickup.

  • Feb 2010: max_posedon said on list that FedEx is really bad to Belarus. Need to look into regular mail.
  • Apr 2010: Sharism shipment of 1 NanoNote from Shanghai -> Shenzhen, then via SZEMS (Shenzhen EMS) to Belarus, delivered in 11 days after pickup - 1 day delay because the customer not there. S&H cost 28.43 USD. Delivered to home address, without any tolls(!).

  • Jun 2010: Sharism shipment of 1 NanoNote from Hong Kong to Brazil, via Hong Kong Post SpeedPost (HK EMS), S&H cost USD 37.87, delivered in 22 days after pickup. 60 USD Duties and Tax were charged.

  • Feb 2010: Sharism shipment of 1 NanoNote from Hong Kong to Quebec, FedEx Economy, S&H cost USD 24.11, delivered 2 days after pickup. Duties and Fees were charged, 9.98 USD.

  • Sharism sells from Taobao.com, ships domestically from Shanghai. S&H cost 20 RMB (ca. 2.93 USD), takes 1 to 3 days.

  • Feb 2010: Sharism shipment of 18 NanoNotes from Hong Kong, FedEx Priority, S&H cost USD 243.53, delivered 3 days after pickup. 125.78 USD duties & tax were charged. Note: FedEx only offers Priority shipping to Colombia, no Economy. So shipping 1 NanoNote is expensive, ca. 66 USD.

  • All shipments to USA need to have FCC Form 740. Here is one filled out form with our information. 'Entry Number' and 'Port of Entry' will be filled out by FedEx or other couriers. 'Importer's Name and Address' and 'Consignee's Name and Address' will be whoever ordered our products. You can find more information regarding FCC Form 740 here. US customers who order our product at our online shop don't need to worry about filling out FCC Form 740. The form will be prepared for you by Sharism once you place your orders.
  • Feb 2010: Sharism shipment of 1 NanoNote from HK to east coast, FedEx Economy, S&H cost USD 24.11, took 4 days.
  • Feb 2010: Sharism shipment of 1 NanoNote from HK to west coast, FedEx Economy, S&H cost USD 24.11, took 2 days.
  • Feb 2010: Sharism shipment of 10-pack NanoNotes from HK to east coast, FedEx Economy, S&H cost USD 57.84, took 7 days. 3 days clearance delay due to a missing FCC Form 740. After we submitted it to customs, all went smoothly.
