DocScrutinizer05wpwrak: (usb) right, the specs were not finalized last time I looked02:04
DocScrutinizer05only "reversible" been decided02:04
wpwraki think even reversible was just a rumor back then. and the specs still aren't finalized. you're ahead of the time ;)02:06
DocScrutinizer05hmm, can't recall. Some few days ago I've read it somewhere on a website / blog, and it sounded like actual specs were not finalized but reversible been set as a property.02:32
wpwrakah, that was some weeks ago. maybe you caught a more up to date update.02:35
DocScrutinizer05probably we seen same URL/blog02:36
DocScrutinizer05some weeks sounds about right02:36
DocScrutinizer05though I'm losing the date more often than not lately, too much to handle. Stuff I'd rather not like to touch at all02:37
Luke-Jrxiangfu: happy 5 year anniversary05:39
larscwow, this microkernel thing is getting out of hand ftp://Temp90523934364:TAG43tag@ftp.belkin.com/Temp90523934364/0028-mamba-mvebu-support-fan-operation.patch ftpftp://Temp90523934364:TAG43tag@ftp.belkin.com/Temp90523934364/0023-mamba-mvebu-fan-script.patch18:56
larscfor those who wonder that is a kernel driver that calls a userspace application, which is a shellscript which performs the register writes by calling a tool which writes to /dev/mem18:57
pcercueimicrokernels are cool, you can write drivers in bash!19:04
DocScrutinizer05I'm more worried about >>calling a tool which writes to /dev/mem<<19:31
DocScrutinizer05iirc a simple `sudo cat /dev/mem` was enough to cause a kernel panic19:32

wpwrakcongratulations ! :) so what solved the problem ?21:11
zrafawpwrak: there is always an explanation : http://pics.nase-bohren.de/wtf-explanation.jpg21:12
zrafawpwrak: for us it was really easy, it is the first time we could test with all the vdd and vss. We have not21:12
wpwrakah, so just connecting all the power pins did it ? and i guess you added the capacitors as well, right ?21:13
zrafamade a new board yet. But I just soldered the two vdd and vss we had not connected, without caps. And I also soldered the vssa and vdda. I just wanted to test with the three vdd and the three vss plugged to vdd and vss from ubb21:13
zrafawpwrak: no :P .. I did not add the capacitors yet. 21:14
wpwrakwow. that was easier than i though. i suspected that what killed it were mainly the missing caps. especially since power comes from "far away" (the ben, with ubb, cable, and so on)21:14
zrafawpwrak: the electronic student will try to design a new board with all the details I saved from your suggestions21:15
zrafawpwrak: but I was hurry to try if the MCU is alive or not :)21:16
wpwrakperfect :) you can also look at the schematics of the FRDM-KL25Z or similar, for ideas. after all, that's basically freescale's reference design21:16
wpwrakyou could even try to flash some code now. not sure if it'll work (because you don't have the caps), but trying it can't really hurt either21:17
zrafawpwrak: yeah, we can try to flash something, you are right. we will try tomorrow :)  I just left the uni office and at home now21:18
zrafaI will start with the wine at least. I will let the drugs for later :)21:19
zrafawpwrak: ^21:19
wpwrakhehe, very good ;-)21:20
