nicksydneywpwrak_: just read that H2O2 is also use for fruit and veggie wash ... http://www.vitamingrocer.com.au/Essential-Oxygen-Hydrogen-Peroxide-Food-Grade-3-p/150223.htm01:11
nicksydneywpwrak_: even it is used for mouthwash http://www.biovea.com/au/product_detail.aspx?PID=2882&TI=GTPAU&utm_source=getprice&utm_medium=cpc 01:14
nicksydneyWTH01:14
whitequarkthat sounds like a really horrible idea01:14
wpwrak_naw, 3% peroxide is harmless01:15
wpwrak_just don't try that with the stronger stuff01:15
wpwrak_unless you want to make friends with the folks over at the chemical burn ward01:16
nicksydneyi was really surprised that the application of H2O2 is including food and health too..stunned 01:17
whitequarkwpwrak_: (chemical burn ward) that is so spot on I wonder whether you actually did that01:18
wpwrak_well, you also have chloride in your water ... :)01:18
whitequarkI know a guy who played a bit too much with an xray tube01:18
whitequarkhe ended up in radiology. became friends with a bunch of nuclear station engineers01:18
nicksydneyhttp://www.apvma.gov.au/use_safely/pool/owners_faq.php "There are a number of alternatives to water sanitising systems or devices that do not contain silver. These products, that usually contain chlorine or bromine, do not need to be used in conjunction with other chemicals. If you prefer not to use chlorine or bromine, there are seven registered alternative products that contain hydrogen peroxide as the active 01:18
nicksydneyingredient."01:18
wpwrak_whitequark: naw, resisted the temptation so far :)01:19
nicksydneywpwrak_: it's a learning process for me to understand all this :)01:19
DocScrutinizer05whitequark: is he still alive?01:29
whitequarkDocScrutinizer05: surprisingly01:30
whitequarkyou can guess it's not the only crazy thing he did in his life. I'm honestly baffled as to how could he made it so far01:30
nicksydneywpwrak_: new end-of-the-year project for the kids ...  http://ctrlv.in/27737701:37
wpwrak_;-))01:59
wpwrak_you could mount the LED upside-down behind the eyes02:00
nicksydneywpwrak_: initially i was thinking of replacing the eye with the led02:05
nicksydneywpwrak_: but can't be bothered playing around with the .mod file in text editor :)02:05
nicksydneywpwrak_: we are spoilt with option down here http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=19239 :)02:06
wpwrak_you can use fped to draw your own :)02:06
nicksydney(fped) let me check02:06
nicksydney(fped)...yikes..looks like this will take me a whole day to read through README :)02:08
nicksydneywill leave it for another day02:08
wpwrak_it has a gui ;-)02:15
wpwrak_fped some-nice-footprint.fpd02:15
wpwrak_but yes, it's not a trivial program :)02:15
nicksydneywpwrak_: the Android PCB etching went well but not as smooth as expected when soldering the SMD component..accidentally rip one of the track when unsoldering one of the LED .. but at least I have 1 eyed Android working :)09:45
nicksydneywpwrak_: miscalculate using 2 resistors which makes me have to unsolder the resistor and in turn ripped the copper track...the copper track is really flimsy ....i remembered you told me 2 days ago about it :)09:47
nicksydneylet me show you some pictures..uploading it now :_)09:47
nicksydney....http://ctrlv.in/277505 .... 09:51

nicksydney_last one ... http://ctrlv.in/277512 :)09:55
habsI won't need any sort of "special" router to use atben on a Nanonote, right? As in, a standard MI424WR from Verizon (my ISP) should work fine with it?10:49
larscyou need special hardware10:53
larscand software10:53
habslarsc: What hardware would that include, other than obviously the atben and the Nanonote?11:00
larscatben is wpan so you need something on your router that speaks wpan11:01
larsce.g. if your router supports usb you could use atusb11:01
larschttp://downloads.qi-hardware.com/people/werner/wpan/web/11:02
larscand then you need software that implements ip over wpan11:02
wpwrak_nicksydney_: nice :) it's also good that you're making your first steps with something simple. by the time you do something like anelok, you want to be good enough to basically make no mistakes. else you'll just have a mess that doesn't work and you'll never find out why12:24
wpwrak_now, pads coming off is bad. two possible reasons: 1) maybe your PCB is poor quality. i come back to the strange color. maybe get something from a shop, they're less likely to see you FR2 as FR4 when you can examine it with your own eyes (they don't know that you don't know the difference yet :)12:25
wpwrak_2) maybe your iron is way too hot and/or you stayed too long on the pads. try to have the iron at a temperature where the solder quickly liquifies, then work rapidly. also, for soldering, apply flux, place the component, then add solder on the tip of the iron and solder the component to the pad. don't try to feed solder and heat directly to the joint (as you would do with old through-hole parts)12:27
wpwrak_also, if you make another try of that board, what would be a good opportunity for trying the tinning. tinning will also make soldering easier since the tin surface - unlike bare copper - won't oxidize.12:28
