zenlunaticwhats the ben classified as?  a "palmtop"?00:58
kristianpaulhi zenlunatic 01:05
kristianpaulpocket computer perhaps too01:05
kristianpaulArtyom, can you actually disable a tracking channel once the prn code has been written to it?03:19
kristianpaulI dont think so..03:19
kristianpaulAnd if you could, what usefull this will be?03:19
Artyomkristianpaul: actually all correlator channels are working after power-on. But their NCOs have zero frequency. That is why new_data flag is not generated. So if you want to switch-off one of correlator channels - try to set code-NCO to 0.06:56
ArtyomMay be this can be useful for some kind of debugging...06:57
LunaVoraxHello everyone!11:41
jivshi wpwrak 13:16
jivsiz part is now solved13:16
jivstrying to get dirtapn work on ben now13:16
wpwrakjivs: (solved) yippee !! congratulations !13:17
jivsI am getting bind 802.15.4: No such device error When running dirtpan command13:17
jivsThank you:-) it was sweet to get it working...13:17
wpwrakdid the 802.15.4 address assignment complete ?13:21
jivsin iz?13:21
jivsyes, the second ben did receive short address from coordinator13:21
wpwrakgood. then you probably have mismatched PAN or local addresses. mismatches between iz/izcoordinator and the dirtpan invocation13:23
wpwrakmaybe  dirtpan 777 8001 1 ...   but iz* has pan = 777 addr = 8002 or such.13:24
jivsi am following instructions from http://projects.qi-hardware.com/index.php/p/ben-wpan/source/tree/master/install/USAGE13:25
jivsi think the address should be fine13:26
jivsnot sure if $ITF is defined properly on ben.13:26
jivscan i replace with sthg directly?13:27
wpwrakthat comes later. you're failing the IEEE 802.15.4 binding13:27
wpwraksthg ?13:27
jivsi mean what value $ITF holds13:28
jivsin case its not defined properly13:28
wpwrak(ITF) if you can predict it :) it's the dynamically allocate TUN/TAP device13:29
jivssorry i had incorrent dirtpan command13:30
jivsgot beyond that binding stage now13:30
jivs/dev/net/tun: No such device 13:30
jivsgetting this error now13:30
wpwrakperhaps another missing kernel module13:30
wpwrakmodules are fun. i try very hard to not use them :)13:31
jivsi had to manually do this mkdir -p /dev/net13:31
jivsmknod /dev/net/tun c 10 20013:31
jivschmod 600 /dev/net/tun13:31
jivsdoes that hint any obvious module missing?13:32
wpwrakhmm, dunno13:33
wpwrakdmesg | grep TUN13:35
wpwrakshould say something like13:35
wpwraktun: Universal TUN/TAP device driver, 1.613:35
jivsthere is nothing for dmesg13:37
jivswpwrak, sorry have to go for lunch bbib...13:37
wpwrakthen you probably have to find and load the module13:39
jivsre wpwrak 14:33
jivsany idea which module might be missing..14:35
jivsloading all the modules which are compiled so must be some new module14:36
wpwraki think it should be tun.ko14:42
jivsfound one package kmod-tun , compiling now, will have reflash and see if it solves the problem14:45
jivswpwrak, It works now ..... 15:12
jivsfinally pinging bens again....15:12
jivsthank u15:12
wpwraknp :) and congratulations !15:26
DocScrutinizer51tunko, nice ;)15:41
whitequarkwpwrak: news from the russian sonar company17:14
whitequarkdepartment of purchases almost never buys the right chip (N looks very much like M, you know... and so on)17:15
whitequarkdepartment of engineering takes random crap that lies at the lab and makes something17:15
whitequarkboss doens't really know most of this17:15
whitequarkseriously, the more I look at it the more I think that it's some kind of a huge experiment17:15
whitequarklike with lab rats17:16
whitequark"would they make a device if we chop off hypothalamus? and if the frontal lobes?.. and if the whole brain? oh really, they would"17:16
ankitbhye folks, i want to known where pkt loss happened in the loss...plz suggest me any tool and method for this...17:35
whitequarkmtr ?17:38
DocScrutinizer51mtr <hostname>; #the method18:21
wpwrakwhitequark: (sonar) i think you need friends a the labs where russia makes icbms. your reports from there could greatly accelerate global disarmament :)18:21
DocScrutinizer51meh!!!! my colleagus hang out at Barcelona today18:22
DocScrutinizer51while I try to (re)implement moduletests that already existed18:23
DocScrutinizer51just for Hassium, not Thorium18:24
whitequarkwpwrak: more like they'd accelerate research and production of nuclear-powered laser killer satelites18:26
whitequarkbecause, well, on one hand russian icbms are guided by hard logic (not kidding. no cpus in there up to the moment, seriously)18:26
whitequarkbut on other hand they're actually produced somewhat like this...18:26
whitequarkat least they were designed by clever people. but I won't count on a rocket flying where it was expected to18:27
whitequarkDocScrutinizer51: what's about that?18:28
DocScrutinizer51Barca? MW?18:29
DocScrutinizer51or wehat?18:29
wpwrakwhitequark: (hardwired icbm control) that's actually nice. ensures that your foreign policy stays somewhat stable. beware of countries that can change the targets of their strategic missiles within seconds, with a single click :)18:30
DocScrutinizer51mobile world18:30
wpwrakDocScrutinizer: the reason for openmoko failing was obviously that they never sent us to MWC :)18:31
DocScrutinizer51well my boss promised limited suppoert to find a sourced for nnn qty of M5780, fore goldwelico18:33
DocScrutinizer51or qi if you are interested18:33
lindi-anybody here going to debit?18:34
wpwrakoh, that's very nice of him18:34
DocScrutinizer51indeed pretty nice18:35
DocScrutinizer51though he's doing this during worktime, he as well could fart in his chair18:36
whitequarkDocScrutinizer51: ... you're not very fond of your boss, are you?18:37
DocScrutinizerHe's an absolutely nice guy18:38
DocScrutinizerThe company though... has some issues18:38
whitequarkwpwrak: (hardwired icbms) also, I remind myself of Stuxnet18:38
whitequarkand the american military "security polices" where they sent unencrypted unchecked data from the drones18:38
whitequarkand relied on gps for location, which allowed Iranian engineers to spoof it and capture a drone18:38
DocScrutinizermight visit Embedded Systems tomorrow though, not eactly Barcelona, but I may meet Nikolaus18:40
DocScrutinizerand convince him of STE modules rather than Option ;-P18:40
GNUtoo|laptopDocScrutinizer, what protocol does STE module speak? could it documented for the GTA04?18:46
DocScrutinizer~wiki CAIF18:49
DocScrutinizerthere's a plain good ol' AT virtual channel, as well as others, muxed over CAIF usually over HSI18:50
kristianpaulArtyom, nice post :)19:17
GNUtoo|laptopah ok21:16
GNUtoo|laptopcaif is now mainline?21:16
GNUtoo|laptopI saw patches but I don't remember 21:17
GNUtoo|laptopah it says it was merged21:17
GNUtoo|laptopso it's ok21:17
