qi-bot[commit] Juan José Díaz Vecchio: Realease Candidate 2, completely new PCB http://qi-hw.com/p/sie-ceimtun/ae70b4b00:35
qwebirc62733I have loaded debian onto an sd card and press m when I boot the nanonote and the boot hangs when we get to loading uImage the nanonote can boot jlime off of a 2 gig sd card i have and openwrt from a 4 gig card is it likely that the problem is with the bootloader?00:54
qwebirc62733I don't really want to flash the bootloader again because theres lots of stuff installed on the nand that I don't want to mess up00:55

Aylahi larsc08:27
AylaI got it to work08:27
larscyeay!08:31
Aylaunfortunately...08:34
Aylathere's still a bug to kill08:34
Aylathe suspend will crash if there is an SD card plugged in08:35
Aylaif I boot using the NAND, it works fine, I can suspend/resume08:35
wpwrakAyla: congratulations !08:37
Aylalol08:38
Aylathanks08:38
Aylabut I changed nothing since yesterday08:38
AylaI just did tests :)08:38
larscdo you have set CONFIG_MMC_UNSAFE_RESUME=y in your config?08:39
Aylano08:40
AylaI try this08:40
Aylabut it'd be better to have a "safe" resume ;)08:40
larscyes, but it's known to be broken08:41
larscit's fixed in 2.6.36 though08:42
Aylaah, ok08:43
Aylathe RTC driver may need another tweak for 2.6.3608:43
Aylaon include/linux/interrupt.h there's a new IRQF flag that I noted it'd be interesting for the RTC clock08:44
AylaI don't remember what it is though :)08:45
larscno it is not08:45
larscyou mean IRQF_NO_SUSPEND08:46
Aylayes08:46
Aylaokay08:47
Aylawell I didn't dig it more08:47
larscit's for timers and such08:47
kyakwill there be a package for suspend?08:47
Aylameh, I can't really test08:47
AylaI'm in the middle of an airport,08:48
larscecho mem > /sys/power/state08:48
Aylawith nothing to put in the "reset" hole of my dingoo08:48
Aylaso if it crash I'm screwed08:48
Ayla(and it probably will)08:48
kyaklarsc: you mean, one can control suspend via /sys/power/state?08:50
Aylayes08:51
kyaki did echo disk > /sys/power/state to suspend to disk08:52
kyakbut nothing happened08:52
kyakand now it's "mem" again in /sys/power/state08:52
Aylawhy do you want to suspend to disk anyway?08:52
kyakhow does it work?08:52
kyaki'm just trying08:53
Aylasuspend to disk is interesting only for PCs, and you must have swap08:53
Aylajust type what larsc wrote08:53
Ayla14:46 < larsc> echo mem > /sys/power/state08:53
kyakwhat i really would want it to turn off all power expect for CPU and make CPU sleep08:53
Aylawell, it'll be better than that08:53
Aylait'll turn off power for everything including the CPU08:54
kyakthe screen went white08:54
kyaktherefore it is powered08:54
kyakafter echo mem > /sys/power/state08:54
Aylaman, why do you think I'm working on this? ;)08:54
kyakok :)08:55
Aylait won't work on yours without changes08:55
kyakgreat08:55
kyakvery good08:55
kyakdoes it have some "idle timer" to do that automatically?08:56
Aylano, but then you can write your own usespace application that monitor the inputs and set to sleep if needed08:56
kyakah ok08:56
kyakAyla: how does CPU get awaken after input if it sleeping?08:57
Aylamagic08:57
Ayla:)08:57
kyakmeans that it is still powered08:57
Aylano08:57
kyakand monitoring some input08:57
Aylathe processor is powered on when it receives an interrupt08:59
kyakbut it has to be already powered to receive this interrupt08:59
kyakbut in power-saving mode09:00
Aylaman, just go read how a processor work ;)09:00
Aylaokay, bbl09:02
kyakhm, seems that echo standby > /sys/power/state and echo mem > /sys/power/state afterwards makes it work09:05
kyakat least the display is switched off09:05
qi-bot[commit] Werner Almesberger: ben-bottom-outside2 is done at 1 mm and 500 um resolution. http://qi-hw.com/p/ben-scans/b45e53609:43
qi-bot[commit] Xiangfu Liu: this fix the `uscan --report-status` error http://qi-hw.com/p/xburst-tools/70466ee10:43
Aylalarsc: with that flag, it works12:01
Ayla... sometimes12:01
rafawhy somebody invented the "workaround" thing?12:53
rafanow I can not live without it :P12:53
zearhey rafa, what is the most up to date jlime toolchain?12:55
rafazear: hey.. sorry.. I forgot that.. the latest uploaded is the one you already know.. I have another more complete (with a lot more libs).. if you want that I will upload right now12:56
zearif that's not a problem, that would be very welcome :)12:56
rafazear: okey.. let me do that ;)12:56
rafazear: uploading13:01
rafawpwrak: lisandropm is from bahia blanca and he knows the Universidad del Sur. He could know if the Universidad nacional del sur has the lab you need13:09
lisandropmwpwrak: we have at least an specturm analyzer in that frequency band and a anechoic chamber13:10
rafawpwrak: no sure if Bahia Blanca is okey for you13:10
rafalisandropm: estara' durmiendo? :)13:11
wpwrakhola lisandropm !13:11
rafaha!13:11
rafano :D13:11
lisandropmwhat I have to check is if the analyzer fullfils th requirements and if the chamber is finished (it is built, but I think they were missing some details)13:11
wpwrakrafa: naw, just got up about a minute ago ;-)13:11
lisandropmand, of course, check for permission (I don't think that would be hard)13:11
wpwraklisandropm: do you also have a signal generator ?13:12
rafawpwrak: just on time13:12
lisandropmI *think* we have one in that frequency range, but I have to double check13:12
wpwrakkewl. what sort of things are you using the lab for ?13:15
lisandropmwpwrak: if coming to Bahia Blanca is not too much travel for you, I can ask this week for permission (and, of course, check that we have what you need)13:15
rafalisandropm: do you know if UBA could have something similar? I asked at lugfi, as you know.. but no answers13:16
lisandropmwpwrak: the lab has gotten new equipmnet in the last few years, and I am not working in it at this time (I am trying to learn to write a device driver now ;) )13:17
lisandropmrafa: no, I don't have a clue of UBA13:17
lisandropmI live 700 km away ;)13:17
wpwraklisandropm: bahia blanca is a bit far, particularly since speed controls on the highways probably have gotten better in recent years. but if i can't find anything closer, it would be a good plan B.13:18
rafalisandropm: I live in BA, I should know better :P13:18
lisandropmwpwrak: no highways between Buenos Aires and Bahía :-(13:19
wpwraklisandropm: this things i'd like to try are to examine the properties of an antenna: http://downloads.qi-hardware.com/people/werner/wpan/atusd/atusd-20100908-inserted.jpg13:20
lisandropmwpwrak: ok, I'll ask just in case.13:20
lisandropmI'll let you know as soon as I have a reply.13:20
lisandropmdo you prefer by IRC or mail?13:20
wpwraklisandropm: and if the equipment is up to it, it would also be nice to look for unwanted emissions at harmonics of 2.4 GHz (for FCC compliance and such)13:20
wpwrakthanks ! either works fine :)13:21
lisandropmok :)13:21
wpwrak(highway) well, there's a decent one at least until Mar del Plata. after that, speed limits are probably enforced by road conditions ...13:21
rafazear: http://jlime.com/downloads/development/crosscompilers/jlime-mipsel-toolchain.tar.gz13:24
zearrafa, thank you very much! :D13:25
lisandropmwpwrak, rafa: ok, mail sent. I'll let you now as soon as I have news on it; please tell me if you find some other place before.13:25
wpwrakrafa: of course, if we can find something a bit closer, that would be great. also in case i need to get something from home or such.13:25
wpwraklisandropm: perfect. thanks a lot !!13:26
lisandropmno problem :)13:27
wpwrakrafa: also thanks ! :)13:30
rafazear: http://jlime.com/downloads/releases/muffinman/documentation/muffinman-toolchain.txt13:31
rafawpwrak: you are welcome13:31
rafazear: I do not remember if I gave you that link before13:32
zearme neither ;)13:32
zearrafa, btw, did you buy the new sd card yet? ;)13:32
rafazear: no yet :(13:33
zear;P13:33
kristianpaulwpwrak: blue or green for the second vesion of the wpan case?13:43
wpwrakkristianpaul: let's try green, save the nicer blue for the final version :)13:44

kristianpaul:)14:06
wpwraklet's see what it looks like ...14:06
kristianpaulblue one is the current version14:08
wpwrak*hmm* now, how do i get that stuff into my local copy ? first time that i share a git repository14:10

wpwraki see it on the web. but  git pull  doesn't create it for me. odd.14:12
kristianpauli git pull again it my /tmp and was fecthed14:12
wpwrakadded master manually to .git/config. that worked. let's see if i can still push things ...14:14
kristianpauli gues14:15
kristianpauli wonder how git handle folders..14:15

kyakfinally.. out of elinks/links2/lynx/w3m, only w3m has decent utf-8 support14:21
kyaki hate those ascii fashists14:21
kyakthey'll never understand...14:21
Action: wpwrak loves lowest common denominators :)14:22
kristianpaulkyak: did you noticed gforth broken in backfire branch?14:22
kyakkristianpaul: no, i never used gforth14:22

kristianpaulhehe ok14:24
kyaklike i saw in one of comments, "life is too short to figure why it doesn't work"14:25
kristianpaulwpwrak: 5mm tall is okay then?14:25
kristianpaulkyak: hehe indeed, why doesn't work what i dont care about (yet)14:25
wpwrakkristianpaul: you can probably still shave off ~0.5 mm  maybe even 1 mm14:29
qi-bot[commit] kristianpaul: Added 6mm tall case http://qi-hw.com/p/ben-wpan/5810f2b14:30

rafatuxbrain: I found some workaround to avoid swap with opkg19:23
kristianpauloh?19:24
mthkristianpaul: "export SDL_NOMOUSE=1" might help19:27
qi-bot[commit] Juan José Díaz Vecchio: Ceimtun logo added, gerber parameters fixed http://qi-hw.com/p/sie-ceimtun/508b49119:27
rafakristianpaul: We wrote a little script which check dependences and download the needed packages. Then we use opkg to install them. To avoid the out of memory when opkg installs the already downloaded packages we avoid that it reads the huge list of packages, so he avoids that step. Finally it installs those packages without swap. (opkg would like to check the dependences, but we already checked that before to download).19:28
kristianpaulrafa: ja ! you're going to rewrite/replace opkg at the end :)19:29
rafakristianpaul: it is still slow.. because our script need to read the huge list of packages yet.. but well, at least it works without swap needed19:29
kristianpaulgood :)19:29
rafakristianpaul: well, no idea what to do.. I do not know why it sucks with memory19:29
kristianpaulhmm19:30
kristianpaulrafa: you can report that as a bug no?19:30
rafakristianpaul: yes, surely. But I need to understand where is the problem to give a good report. If I do not find that info I will report anyway.. Maybe they know what they need to debug19:31
kristianpaulmth: it works thanks !19:40
kristianpaulnow where it should go in the openwrt code?19:40
kristianpaulohh no apps..19:40
kristianpaulseems missing config somewhere..19:41
kristianpaullets see19:41
kristianpaulwpwrak: did you solve your clock issue?19:44
kristianpauli feel i close to fall on same problem19:44
kristianpaulor my timing will be crazy tring to understan some data fromt the gpio :/19:44
wpwrakkristianpaul: you mean gmenu2x vs. clocks ? i just got rid of gmenu2x :) but it seems that this issue is fixed in the latest version19:47
kristianpaulwpwrak: yes19:48
